Eunice J. Andrews
CHARLOTTE - Eunice J. Andrews, who was born Jan. 6, 1908, in Gaffney, went to be with the Lord at her residence on Saturday, March 31, 2007.
The service of Triumphant will be held Saturday, April 7, 2007, at noon at her church, the Greater Myers Chapel Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries, 600 Jordan Place, in Charlotte. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 11:55 a.m.
Mother Andrews relocated to Charlotte in the early 1940s and was married to the late Weiss Andrews. To that union one son was born, the late Edwin "June" Andrews.
In her relocation, Mrs. Andrews moved her membership from Mitchell Chapel FBH Church in Gaffney and started attending the Old Bethlehem FBH Church in the Biddleville section of Charlotte. She later united with the Myers Mission, which later became the Myers Chapel FBH Church of Pearl Street (Greater Myers Chapel Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries Inc.)
Mother Andrews was the longest standing member of Myers Chapel for over 70 years with faithful and loyal service to the Kingdom. She served as the church secretary for over 50 years and as president of the Pastor's Aide Team until her death. She has served in the past on the Usher's Board, during her tenure with the Fire Baptized Holiness Church she served as the secretary of the Sisters of Charity Convention, and as a secretary for the Sunday School Convention for more than 20 years.
She was never a person who gave her least in service or finance. She was committed to giving her best in all that she did. Her motto was, "If first a task is begun, never leave it until it's done, be its labor great or small, do it well or not at all." Her witty sense of humor and remarkable ability for retention of dates and times will be remembered.
She leaves to cherish her memory her nieces, Wynetta Grier (Ronnie) of Charlotte; Ruth Jefferies of Philadelphia, Pa.; her favorite cousin, Sutalia George (Curtis) of Philadelphia; a brother, D.B. Jefferies of Detroit, Mich,; a sister, Corie Spears of Gaffney; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; and her adopted grandson, Bishop Nathan J. Anderson.
Arrangements by Alexander Funeral Service.
