Lady Saints, Mount Olive split doubleheader

The Lady Saints were too much for Mount Olive in the first game of their doubleheader on Thursday. It was a different story in the nightcap.

The Lady Saints won the opener, 8- 0, before Mount Olive got the win in game two, 8-0.

The Lady Saints are 8-6 in the conference.

Jennifer Casement got the win in the first game, allowing just one hit over four innings. Lisa DeMarr pitched in relief.

Shauna Cowdrey gave up nine hits and was tagged with the loss.

Limestone scored three runs in the third inning when Candice Evans doubled to score Jessica Brown and Keisha Thompson.

Brittany Owen doubled to left center to score Evans.

The Lady Saints sealed the win in the fourth when Christina Woolgar singled to score Courtney Guerrieri and Lauren Robertson. Woolgar then scored on an error. Brown capped the scoring with a 2-run homer.

Evans got the loss in the nightcap. Limestone was outhit in game two, 10-3.

The Lady Trojans scored four runs in the first and added a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings to secure the win.

Limestone returns to action today at Barton.
