With a cast and crew of more than twenty, Gaffney Youth Theatre, under the direction of Tracy Morrison, presents Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Romantic play, set among the English moors in the mid-eighteen hundreds, will be staged at Gaffney Little Theatre on East Robinson Street.

This classic story tells the story of Jane Eyre, an English governess who accepts a position at Thornfield Hall to tutor a strong-willed ward of the mysterious Mr. Rochester. Eventually she and Mr. Rochester fall in love, but before they can be married, Jane learns that he is already married and that his wife, who is confined in the attic of the estate, is insane. Jane leaves, but is ultimately reunited with the man she loves after learning that his wife has died. Willis Hall has adapted Bronte's novel for the stage. The twenty actors play more than forty roles in this version of the play.

Zimmerman Zimmerman Amanda Mullinax plays the role of Jane Eyre, with Alex Zimmerman as Edward Rochester. The cast also includes Zach White, Allison Conwell, Kim Guthrie, Ashley Zimmerman, Colton Burch, Hannah Welch, and Brittany Whitmire.
