Limestone inducts members into History Honor Society
McCracken Limestone College's Alpha Theta Delta chapter of Phi Alpha Theta International Honor Society inducted four new members into the organization on Wednesday, April 4.
The inductees, all of whom are History majors, were senior Brent McCracken of Cowpens, sophomore Nicole Piazza of Hilton Head, senior Chad Cooksey of Inman, and junior Brenton Wright of Irmo.
To be inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, undergraduate students must complete at least 12 semester hours in History with a GPA of at least 3.1 in History, have a GPA of 3.0 or better overall, and be in the top 35 percent of the class.
Membership is not limited to History majors.
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
The organization seeks to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by its members in a variety of ways.
