The American Red Cross will be holding Shelter Operations class on Thursday, April 19, 2007, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the American Red Cross Service Center in Gaffney at 301 N. Limestone St. Interested persons should pre-register by calling 489-6066 or come by the American Red Cross office during regular office hours, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The American Red Cross is now registering for Babysitter's Raining Courses. Dates and times are May 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (bring a bag lunch), and June 12, 13, and 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. Youth ages 11-15 will learn emergency action steps, basic first aid, leadership skills, decision-making skills and solutions to real-life problems, and even how to find and interview for a babysitting job. A certification card is given when the course is successfully completed. The course is taught by an American Red Cross certified instructor. Babysitter's first aid kit and handbook are included. The Gaffney Youth Theatre production of Jane Eyre will be presented April 19, 20, and 21 at 7:30 p.m. and April 22 at 3 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the theatre at 489-4589. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for youth.

There will be a yard sale Saturday, April 21, from 7 a.m. until at Blacksburg Church of God parking lot. There will be a hot dog sale, baked goods, deer stands, tapes, bicycles, children's videos, name brand clothes and double BBQ cooker on trailer (gas cooker). The church is located at 607 W. Cherokee St. If rain, it will be held in the family life center.

Life Changer's Church will be celebrating their 8th church anniversary Sunday, April 22, at 4 p.m. The theme for this occasion is "New Beginnings." The speaker will be Min. Barry Davis of Greenville. Pastor Ronald and Co-Pastor Marilyn Frazier invite everyone to attend.

New Mt. Zion Baptist Church will have a Trustee Program Sunday, April 22, at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Billy Houze.

The Lester Reunion will be held Saturday, April 21, at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. Fellowship will be at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Please bring a well-filled basket to share and invite all your family.
