The 20th annual Bar H Championship Rodeo and Country Festival will be held Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12. The event will be at the Bar H Arena in Boiling Springs, N.C. The country festival will begin each day at 6 p.m. and the championship rodeo will begin at 8 p.m. The admission price includes the country festival and the championship rodeo.

For the first time the event is co-sanctioned by the Southern States Pro Rodeo Association and the National Cowboys Association. You will see some of the best contestants competing on award winning livestock for cash prizes and championship points. Events offered are bareback bronc riding, calf roping, cowgirl's breakaway roping, team roping, cowgirl's barrel race and the wild bull riding.

The Bar H Championship Rodeo and Country Festival has always been one of the top rodeos when it comes to drawing the best rodeo athletes to compete. The co-sanction this year increases that drawing power.

The country festival has many participation events for all ages. You may want to take advantage of a free hayride, a free carriage ride, free kids carnival rides or may want to compete in the kid's events in the arena prior to the rodeo. Adults also get to compete in events prior to the rodeo.

Flint Hill Baptist Church is the sponsor of the event and will be serving their great food throughout the event. If you want BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, turkey legs, or other great tasting foods, the Flint Hill Baptist Church menu is for you.

Tickets may be purchased through Wednesday, May 9. Advance ticket prices are $10 for adults and $4 for children (6-12 years). Children under six are free.

The Friday, May 11, performance is senior citizen's night. During this performance, senior citizens will be admitted at a child's price.
