County will take hard look at recycling routes
Recycling will be the hot topic at the next Cherokee County Public Works Committee meeting.
Cherokee County Councilman Bailey Humphries, who chairs the committee, said the committee will meet Thursday to review the participation rates on existing routes to determine if any changes are needed.
"We'll look to see if we need to drop some and see if we need to pick some others up," he said.
Humphries said his committee may recommend to expand the recycling routes in areas where the participation rate is higher and eliminate routes where the participation rate is low.
The county currently operates recycling routes in the City of Gaffney, Blacksburg, Draytonville and portions of the Grassy Pond area.
The committee will meet on Thursday at 3 p.m. in council chambers.
