Modestine C. Fowler
Mrs. Modestine Camp Fowler, 79, of 129 A n t h o n y S t r e e t , Gaffney, formerly of 700 D o g w o o d D r i v e , G a f f n e y, widow of Mr. Lincoln Matthew Fowler, passed Tuesday morning, April 17, at 11:22 A.M., at her residence.
Daughter of the late John Robert Manning and the late Lillie Camp Manning, she was a native of Cherokee County, South Carolina. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. A daughter, Ms. Lou Ann Fowler, preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Fowler of Gastonia, NC and Lincoln Fowler and Jerry Fowler, both of Gaffney; six daughters, Mrs. Gardenia Fowler of Johnson City, Tennessee, Mrs. Elaine Allen, Mrs. Gwen Oglesby, Ms. Connie Huskey, Mrs. Joannie Allen and Mrs. Jill Smith, all of Gaffney; three brothers, Jack Manning and Lowell Manning, both of Gaffney and J. C. Manning of Charlotte, NC; her sister, Mrs. Nancy Watkins of Gaffney; twenty-four grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great greatgrandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 22nd, at 3:00 P.M. at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating.
Her remains will lie instate at 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
