Husband's relationship with brother causing rift
      Dear Annie: My husband of nine years has a brother, "Daniel," whom I have never been comfortable with, but have tolerated. My husband's sister will not allow Daniel in her home, and another brother will not even speak to him. Daniel lives several hours away and recently invited himself to visit for the weekend. He brought his new girlfriend, whom we did not invite or want to stay with us.

Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre performances begin Thursday
      With a cast and crew of more than twenty, Gaffney Youth Theatre, under the direction of Tracy Morrison, presents Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Romantic play, set among the English moors in the mid-eighteen hundreds, will be staged at Gaffney Little Theatre on East Robinson Street.

Limestone inducts members into History Honor Society
      Limestone College's Alpha Theta Delta chapter of Phi Alpha Theta International Honor Society inducted four new members into the organization on Wednesday, April 4. The inductees, all of whom are History majors, were senior Brent McCracken of Cowpens, sophomore Nicole Piazza of Hilton Head, senior Chad Cooksey of Inman, and junior Brenton Wright of Irmo.

New focus on asthma control to help patients breathe easier
      WASHINGTON (AP) - Only one in five children with asthma has the disease under good control, sobering findings that are helping to fuel a shift in care. The change: A stronger focus on day-to-day symptoms, not just the bad attacks, so that more of the 20.5 million Americans of all ages who have asthma can breathe easier without limiting their activities.

VA Reaches Out to Veterans and Spouses
      WASHINGTON - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is reaching out to inform wartime veterans and surviving spouses of deceased wartime veterans about an under-used, special monthly pension benefit called Aid and Attendance. "Veterans have earned this benefit by their service to our nation," said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson.

"Alladin" on stage this Friday at Granard Middle School
      Granard Middle School's Drama Department along with the Chorus and Band will be presenting "Aladdin" this Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students. Children under 4 will be admitted free.

      The American Red Cross will be holding Shelter Operations class on Thursday, April 19, 2007, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the American Red Cross Service Center in Gaffney at 301 N. Limestone St. Interested persons should pre-register by calling 489-6066 or come by the American Red Cross office during regular office hours, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
