Special events

The Broad River Leatherneck Detachment of the Marine Corps League will be having a cookout on Saturday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at 993 Old Post Road in Gaffney. Hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas and all the fixings will be served. All members, their guests and any Marine, past and present, are invited to attend. Gospel singing

A gospel concert will be held Thursday, April 26, at RS Central High School, Rutherfordton, N.C., at 7 p.m. Featured will be the Dove Brothers Quartet, Carolina Quartet (formerly the Melody Masters Quartet) and Southern Sounds Quartet. Class meetings

The 1959 Class of Gaffney High School will meet for lunch on Friday, April 27, at noon in the Stephenson Dining Hall at Limestone College. All class members are invited to attend.

Special events

The seventh annual Wellness Walk for the employees of Cherokee County Department of Social Services will be held Tuesday, April 24. The public is asked to make donations that can be used for the walker's treat bags or a door prize.

Meetings

The Gaffney Business and Professional Women's Club will meet today, April 23, at the House of Pizza at 6:30 p.m. The program will be "The History of the Business and Professional Women's Club." Guests and prospective new members are welcome to attend.

Blacksburg VFW Post 4941 and its Ladies Auxiliary will have their monthly meeting Tuesday, April 24, at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All post and auxiliary members are urged to attend.
