Retired from Duke Power

Bobby Joe Herrin, 76, of 416 E. Montgomery St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 23, 2007, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Greer, he was the son of the late Hubert Lewis Herrin and Myrtle Lena Jones Herrin and husband of Julia Juanita Bridges Herrin. He was retired from Duke Power Company. Mr. Herrin was a member of Masonic Lodge Layfayette 330 and was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his wife, surviving are three sons, Bobby Wayne Herrin, David Lee Herrin and wife, Shannon, and Kenny Gene Herrin, all of Gaffney; three brothers, Jerry Herrin, Ted Herrin and Jimmy Herrin, all of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Dennis Butler, Timothy Herrin, Christie Herrin and Christopher Herrin; and five greatgrandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Herrin was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Butler; a son, Tommy Wylie Herrin; a sister, Dorothy Sparks; a brother, H.L. Herrin; and a grandson, Tommy Eugene Herrin.

The family will receive friends today from 10-11 a.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. After the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by Bishop Manfred Martin.

The family will be at the residence.
