      Cherokee County Metro Narcotics Unit agents said they seized approximately 30 marijuana plants from a Union Highway home Sunday morning. Agent Jerry Smith has charged Wayne Everett Reynolds, 42, of 2427 Union Highway, Lot 19, Gaffney, with manufacturing marijuana.

FCA plans year-end pep rally

      University of South Carolina football team chaplain Adrian Despres will be the featured speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes end-of-theschool year rally May 16 at 7 p.m. in the Gaffney High School auditorium.       A Gaffney man was arrested after he told police he only had two beers, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. Officer Scott Tallent has charged Thomas Edward Dawkins, 56, of 639 4th St., Gaffney, with 2nd offense driving under the influence, driving under suspension and open container violation.

CHILDREN INJURED
      Two small children were transported to the pediatric unit in Greenville and a Gaffney woman was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Thursday following a two-vehicle accident at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Overbrook Drive. Officer John Fuller of the Gaffney Police Department said the three were injured when a Cadillac Escalade pulled in front of a Mazda.

      Although he took his last steps on Earth more than 2,000 years ago, his story lives on in the hearts and minds of millions of people today. The story will have an encore performance Sunday at Kirby Memorial Baptist Church, which will present The Witness 2007, a modern day musical drama portraying the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

Man charged with lewd act

      A Blacksburg man has been released on $75,000 bond after he was arrested for allegedly touching a juvenile girl inappropriately. Assistant Blacksburg Police Chief Al Phillips has charged 35-year-old David Scott Cooper of 122 Brown St. with lewd act on a minor. Cooper was arrested Friday and released at 8:45 p.m. Monday.

      The final 2007 Relay for Life Team Captains Meeting will be held on Monday, May 7, at 6:00 p.m. in the Timken office building. Team campsites will be chosen during this meeting so each team should send a representative. Relay will be held Friday, May 11, at the Timken Track.
