Mary Bramlett Elementary is not on the list of schools that face a state review in 2008, but its students will still need to improve their test scores. Retelling this tale of carnage doesn't help Mitt Romney's campaign
WASHINGTON - Opening in theaters Friday, a motion picture called "September Dawn" depicts a brutal American massacre that has been forgotten. On Sept. 11, 1857, in Utah Territory, Mormons slaughtered more than 120 California-bound settlers from Arkansas. Retelling at this time the 9/11 carnage of 150 years ago does not help Mormon Mitt Romney's presidential campaign. More...
A week later... and still no TV
Never will I again take the luxury of cable television for granted. In some ways my life has been a bit nomadic, moving from place to place with the military pulling me just as if I were a dog being tugged along by a leash. More...
That shopping spree will soon cost you a little more. Beginning June 1, the state's sales tax will increase to six cents on the dollar, up a penny from the current rate. The increase was passed by the state Legislature last year as part of property tax relief reform. More...
