Director of Cherokee Technology Center

BLACKSBURG - Warren Ray Bedford, 57, of 236 McDaniel Road, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in Upstate C a r o l i n a M e d i c a l Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Peggy Pridmore Bedford and son of Wilbur Ray Bedford of Blacksburg and the late Modra Moss Bedford. He was Director of the Cherokee Technology Center and was a South Carolina State Constable. An Iron City Cyclist, he was member of CKC Fire Department, was a CKC First Responder and was part of the CKC Honor Guard. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are two sons, Jason Bedford of Blacksburg and David Bedford of Spartanburg; a stepson, Billy Tucker of Blacksburg; a stepdaughter, Julia Christina Smith of Blacksburg; a brother, Randy Bedford of Chester; two sisters, Patricia Martin of Blacksburg and Cherie Pressley of Spartanburg; and three grandchildren, Jade, Ashlyn, and Dustin Smith of Blacksburg.

Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Terry Lowe, Jessie Power and Bruce Price. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Earls, Jeff Wright, Jimmy White, Ronnie Patterson, Daryl Sanders, Judge Carroll, Jamie Ham and Robbie Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bill James, Dr. Harold Talley, Danny Ham and Steve Moss.

Visitation was held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church

The family is at the residence.
