Victoria Hughes, 86, formerly of 141 Iris Lane, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007, at 3:30 a.m. at Brookview HealthCare Center.

A native of Union County, she was the daughter of the late James "Jim" D a w k i n s and the late Lizzie Glenn Dawkins. She was a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, deaconess and member of the Senor Missionary. She was a retired custodian of West End Baptist Church and was first employed at Second Limestone Mill.

Surviving are two stepsons, Edward Hughes of Gaffney and William Hughes of Columbia; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Hughes and Helen Butler of Gaffney; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. C. Dennis Rector officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The family is at the residence.
