Shady Grove Baptist Church will honor mothers on May 13

Shady Grove Baptist Church, 712 Green River Road, will have its annual Mother's Day program on Sunday, May 13, during the 11 a.m. worship service. Speaker will be Dorothy Manning, wife of Deacon Eugene Manning.

The Deaconess, Trustees' and Ministers' wives will be in charge of the service. All mothers will be recognized along with the church's oldest mother in attendance, mother with the most children, mother with the most children present during morning worship, and the mother who traveled the greatest distance to church.

A special feature of the service will be a Mother's Day balloon launch. Red and white balloons in honor of living and deceased mothers will be released during a special commemoration. Each balloon will bear a card naming the person honored or remembered and the name and address of the balloon sponsor. Balloons can be reserved with a $5 donation.

Following the service, the Shady Grove men will honor all mothers with dinner.
