Connington Leverne Wood, 57, of Houston, Texas, died M o n d a y, April 30, 2007, in Tulsa, Okla.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Anita Littlejohn Wood and son of Marie Wood and the late Connington Wood. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gaffney and Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston. He was a 1967 graduate of Granard High School and was an employee of Exxon Mobile in Houston.

Also surviving are a sister, Daisy Wood of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Teria and Sharmica Drayton, both of Washington, D.C.; and two stepgrandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. officiating, assisted by Dr. W.A. Lawson. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The family is at 108 Yale St., Gaffney.
