Dorothy L. Messer

Gaffney native

Dorothy Mae Ledbetter Messer, 64, of 405 Barclay Ave., died Friday, May 11, 2007, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Gaffney, she was the widow of Jerry Wayne Messer and daughter of the late Wylie Garland Ledbetter and the late Ada Lee Robbins Ledbetter. She was a member of Salvation Army Church.

Surviving are two sons, "Bug" Ronald Harrill Sr. of Gaffney and Robbie Harrill of Spartanburg; a daughter, Susan Olmstead of Gaffney; six grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; a brother, James Ledbetter of Columbus, Tenn.; and a sister, Martha Jones of Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Messer was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Ledbetter.

Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel, downtown, conducted by the Rev. James Ledbetter and Major Pat Johnston. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Byars, Kevin Branch, Michael Martin and Howard McSwain, Joseph Messer and Steven Messer.

Visitation was held Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Shuford- Hatcher Funeral Home.
