Viola (Vee) Foley Cocoros, widow of George Cocoros, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007.

Mrs. Cocoros was born and raised in Danville, Va. She was an active member of Buford Street United Methodist Church where "Miss Vee" served as chairman of the worship committee for many years. She also served as chairman of the needlepoint guild and helped coordinate the creation of the beautiful needlepoint found within the church.

Mrs. Cocoros is survived by her son, Brent Cocoros and wife, Anna Rogers Cocoros, of Campobello; her daughter, Georganne Cocoros Rouse and husband, Larry Rouse, of Union; two sisters, Cora Foley Richardson of Danville, Va., and Margaret Foley Barksdale of Kemah, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Buford Street United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bob Waddell and Lynn Newton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buford Street United Methodist Church, 120 E. Buford St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340; or to the George and Viola Cocoros Scholarship Fund at Limestone College, 1115 College Drive, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
