Retired from McBess Industries

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Howard E. Green, 93, of 109 Croft Drive, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Crawley Memorial, Boiling Springs, N.C.

A native of Rutherford County, N.C., he was the son of the late John Bynum and Minnie Honeycutt Green. He was the widower of Martha Moore Green and was also preceded in death by a son, Odell Green.

Mr. Green was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain and was a farmer. He retired from McBess Industries in Bessemer City.

Surviving are two sons, Ray Green and wife, Betty, of Casar, N.C., and Robert Gene Green and wife, Doris, of Gaffney; six daughters, Geraldine King and husband, Toney, of Kings Mountain, Arlene Green of Shelby, Nancy Dunn, Joyce Bridges and husband, Jerry, all of Lincolnton, Faye Starnes and husband, Mack, of Kings Mountain and Margie Thomas and husband, Michael, Shelby; a brother, Ed Green of Kings Mountain; a sister, Pauline Dorsey of Kings Mountain; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren: and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Gary Teague II and Bill Painter. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Harris Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home of Geraldine Kink, 109 Croft Drive, Kings Mountain.
