Granddaughter graduates

JEANEVRA PEARSON Jeanevra Lanise Pearson of Covington, Ga., daughter of Grady Sr. and Carol Pearson of Covington and granddaughter of Nannie Louise Tate and Tecola Pearson, both of Gaffney, graduated from Salem Senior High on May 26, 2007.

Pearson participated in various activities while at Salem High. She was a junior and senior varsity cheerleader and a member of Rockdale County Teen Court, National Beta Club and National Honor Society. She was a Peer Mentor and participated in Skills USA, where she won first place for the state of Georgia and received an opportunity to go to Los Angeles, Calif., for the national competition.

Pearson maintained a 3.8 cumulative grade point average and received a Hope Scholarship. In August, she will be attending Georgia Southern University, majoring in psychology.
