Schools announce orientation schedules

Draytonville Elementary will have a Back to School orientation on Wednesday, August 15.

Parents of students in Grades 4 and 5 will meet from 4:00-4:30, Grades 2 and 3 will meet from 4:30-5:00, and Kindergarten and Grade 1 parents will meet from 5:00- 5:30.

Please report to your child's classroom. The instructional fee of $5 will be collected at this time. Teachers will explain their procedures and answer any questions.

Granard Middle School seventh and eighth grade students receive schedules Aug. 14 from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sixth grade students will receive schedules and meet teachers Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. Instructional fees should be paid on these dates.

Parents and students will have an opportunity to meet the new principal at B.D. Lee Elementary School and receive teacher assignments on Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 1-4 p.m. Snow cones will be sold for $1.

School orientation is scheduled for all students, including five-year-old kindergarteners, on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 4-6 p.m. Parents and students can view the school and meet teachers. There will be a brief parent meeting at 3:45 p.m. in the school gym.

Instruction fees of $5 and kindergarten snack fees of $2.50 weekly may be paid during orientation. The PTO will sell school car tags, magnets and snow cones for $1. School shirts may be purchased for $3.

Limestone-Central Elementary will hold orientation August 16 for grades 1-5. Orientation for kindergarten students will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Grassy Pond Elementary will hold a Back to School drop-in Thursday, Aug. 16. Parents and students are invited to the school between 4-6 p.m. to meet their teacher.

Gaffney High School will hold an open house on Tuesday, August 28 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Parents are invited to visit their student's class at that time.

Ewing Middle orientation schedule

Sixth grade - August 16 - 5:30 p.m.

Seventh grade - August 16 - 6:30 p.m.

Eighth grade - August 16 - 7:30 p.m.

A $10 instruction fee will be collected during orientation.

Blacksburg High School students can pick up their schedules on Monday, Aug. 13 and Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eleventh and 12th grade students can pick up their schedules Monday while ninth and 10th graders can pick up their schedules Tuesday.

Any prior fees must be paid when schedules are picked up.

All students need to be prepared to pay a $20 activity fee when they pick up their schedules or during the first three days of school.

Students who plan to drive to school must be prepared to purchase a $20 parking pass.

Orientation for ninth grade students will be on Monday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the BHS auditorium.
