Teen stressed out by family situation
      Dear Annie: I am an almost-13-yearold boy who lives in an average-sized suburban home. My mom is a kindergarten teacher. There is only one problem - my dad. He quit his job in search of another about six years ago. He found more work, but then shattered his leg in a car accident. He got a lot of insurance money, which he has been using to pay off bills.

GHS students home from trip to Europe
Group tours Ireland, Wales, London and Paris
      A group of Gaffney High School students recently returned from a 12-day excursion to Europe. The trip began in Dublin, Ireland, where they visited St. Patrick's Cathedral, Guinness Storehouse, the National Archeological Museum and other sites.

      Limestone College English Professor Dr. Alex Richardson's first book of poetry, Porch Night on Walnut Street, has just been released by Plainview Press of Austin, Texas. The collection contains poems that deal with the home and family.

      CLUB HELPS LOCAL CHARITIES - The L'Etoile Club, a group of young women whose mission is to serve Cherokee County, selects a community service project each month and holds several fundraising events during the year. The funds raised are donated to outreach ministries in the county.

'Voices of the Great War'on display at USC's Cooper Library
      COLUMBIA - A new exhibition at the University of South Carolina's Thomas Cooper Library provides a literary response to World War I. "Voices of the Great War," on display in the library's mezzanine level through Sept. 30, complements a series of exhibitions on display at the university and in Columbia that commemorate World War I.
