Renowned pianist to play, speak at Limestone College on Sept. 25
Roman Rudnytsky will give concert at 7:30; lecture at 3:30
Roman Rudnytsky Roman Rudnytsky, an internationally renowned pianist, will be at Limestone College on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
He will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. in Carroll Recital Hall. His lecture, "The Life and Career of a Concert Pianist," will be presented in the same room at 3:30 p.m. prior to the concert. Both events are free and open to the public.
A New York native, Rudnytsky has performed in nearly 80 countries and is one of the most traveled concert pianists. He began playing the piano at age four and started giving recitals at age seven. He later graduated from New York's famous Julliard School.
Rudnytsky is a prize-winner in several prestigious piano competitions, including the International Leventritt Competition in New York and the International J.S. Bach Competition in Washington, D.C. He has also made numerous recordings in Poland, Australia and the United States.
Rudnytsky has been a member of the piano faculty at the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, since 1972. He is a recipient of that institution's "Distinguished Professor Award" in recognition of his concert activities. He previously served on the piano faculties of the Indiana University School of Music and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory, in addition to being artist-in-residence at two Australian universities.
