Woodruff roughs up Wildcats
      Woodruff took advantage of six Blacksburg turnovers Friday to turn a close game at halftime into a 47-9 rout. Woodruff led 19-9 at halftime on three touchdowns from running back Maurice Gilliam. Two scores were set up by interceptions of Blacksburg quarterback Dustin Byars.

Indians grind out win
      Note to Region II-4A defensive coordinators - the Gaffney Indians have finally found their offensive identity. The Indians piled up a season-best 241 rushing yards, including 148 yards by Steffen Foster, in a hard-fought 35-21 victory over winless Mauldin in the region opener for both teams on Friday.

      The Mauldin defense was no match for Gaffney running back Steffen Foster. Foster rushed for a career best 148 yards on 24 carries in the Indians' 35- 21 win over Mauldin on Friday.
