ARC looking for volunteers to become members of DAT The American Red Cross is organizing teams of volunteers willing to be trained to be disaster assistance team members. DAT members respond to the scene of a disaster, most often a house fire, and offer Red Cross disaster recovery assistance to victims. The all-day training will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the conference room at Brookview Healthcare Center, 510 Thompson St. The two-night training will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, and Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 6-10 p.m. at the Cherokee County Red Cross building, 405 N. Logan St. Attendance both nights is required. The training is free. Interested persons should complete a DAT application prior to class registration.
