Hospice Care names CEO

Dawn-Michele Teachey RN, BSN has been named Chief Executive Officer for Hospice Care of South Carolina. In addition to leading the daily operations, Teachey will oversee the company's strategic planning, long range goals, and policies. Serving as Vice President of Corporate Development since 2004, Teachey has been instrumental in the development and growth of clinical operations, market expansion, and quality improvement.

"Over the past three years, Dawn has helped Hospice Care of South Carolina establish local services in 23 South Carolina counties," said Todd Picou, Board Member of Hospice Care of South Carolina. "Through her leadership, we were recently recognized as the largest single provider of hospice care services in the state. Dawn is a natural leader and I know she will help pioneer improved hospice services and quality initiatives for not only our local hospice markets but for all hospice organizations across the nation."

Before joining Hospice Care of South Carolina, Teachey was Vice President of CSI Healthcare, an international healthcare agency. At CSI Healthcare, Teachey developed and implemented numerous successful health programs throughout India, South Korea, and Mexico. In addition, Teachey brings over 12 years of clinical and management experience in emergency, critical, and end of life care.

Celebrating 10 years of care, Hospice Care of South Carolina has offices in 23 counties. Hospice Care of South Carolina provides compassion and comfort to families and patients living with life- limiting illness. The treatment goal is to enable patients to continue an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that they may live with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones.
