Olga Hughey
Olga Geraldine Hughey, 79, of 304 Briarcreek Trial, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Gaines W. Dixon and Maggie Fowler Dixon. She was retired from Oxford Industries and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Geraldine Owens and husband, Marvin, Gail Lee Parker, Kay Frances McDaniel and husband, Mike, all of Gaffney; two brothers, Donnie Dixon of Gaffney and Clyde Dixon of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Joan Haulbrooks of Gaffney and Betty Veto of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Krystal Michelle Sanders, Julie Kay Sossamon, Paul Douglas Wisher Jr., Joshua Blake Parker and Michael Shane McDaniel; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Hughey was preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Carpenter, Mozelle Whitfield and Virginia White; two grandchildren, Bobby Gene Owens Jr. and Jerry O'dell Robertson Jr.; and a stepmother, Ethel Williams Dixon.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Batchelor officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
