Setzer, Augthun and Hopkins together again for art exhibit
Talented artists exhibit works at Spartanburg Museum of Art
      Carol Augthun, Claire Miller Hopkins and Sara Dame Setzer exhibited together in the mid-1980s at Morton Antiques in downtown Spartanburg. The three enjoyed the collaboration and the friendship. Though each is a two-dimensional artist, their works were diverse in subject and style, and they felt they complemented each other well.

      Parson's Pantry Inc. will have a banquet at Midway Baptist Church Family Life Center on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. Dr. Don Wilton, pastor of First Baptist Church Spartanburg, will be the speaker. A meal will be served at $10 per person.

PRIZE WINNER
      The Cherokee County Public Library's "National Library Card Month" contest wrapped up last week and Maria Botello won a gift basket by signing up as a new library patron. Lana Gardner, director of the Cherokee County Public Library, presented the prize. The main branch library and the Blacksburg branch signed up 125 new patrons during September.

      The Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing in Fullerton Auditorium at Limestone College on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the performance will be available at the door for $15.       Reunions A reunion for anyone who attended Pacolet High School from 1929 to 1976 will be held Friday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. at Pacolet Mill Cloth Room, located on Sunny Acres Road. ARC Kids Day is set for Oct. 13
      The American Red Cross is hosting a Master of Disaster kids' program on fire prevention and safety Oct. 13 from 10:30 a.m. until noon at 504 N. Logan St. The free event is designed for kids up to the third grade, but all children are welcome. The program will help youngsters be prepared for emergencies.
