Salvation Army taking Christmas help applications Oct. 22-26, Nov. 5-9

The Salvation Army and Department of Social Services will be taking Christmas applications Oct. 22-26 and Nov. 5-9 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

If you need assistance with Christmas, come by the Salvation Army, 601 Colonial Ave. during these hours. You will need to provide: income for the last four weeks of all household members; Social Security cards of every household member and picture ID of the person filling out application; proof of all bills (rent, mortgage, power, gas or water bills, insurance, finance companies, car payment and credit cards); proof of food stamps; and if you are not working you will need to bring proof that you are looking for a job. All of this information has to be provided; there are no exceptions. This is for children through age 14 only.
