Vickers - Martin vows said Sept. 22
MR. AND MRS. DANIEL RYAN MARTIN Melinda Sue Vickers and Daniel Ryan Martin exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. The 6 p.m. double ring ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Mike Frazier. A reception followed in the Family Life Center.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin are making their home in Gaffney after a wedding trip to Chimney Rock, N.C.
The bride is the daughter of Tommy Lynn Vickers and Debbie Vickers, both of Gaffney. Her grandparents are Tommy J. Vickers, Katherine Vickers, both of Chesnee, and the late David Owens and Doris Owens. A 2003 graduate of Gaffney High School and 2007 graduate of Wyatt Institute of Realty, she is a realty assistant at Chris Patterson Realty.
The groom is the son of Rodger Hughey and Debra Martin, both of Gaffney. Dean and Joyce Jones of Gaffney served as the groom's honorary grandparents at the wedding. A 2004 graduate of Gaffney High School, he is lead welder and metal fabricator at Randolph Trucking.
Music was provided by Candy Goforth, organist, who played "The Wedding March." Natalie Bolton sang "Because You Loved Me" and "Lost In This Moment."
For her wedding, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin designed in an A-line silhouette. The halter bodice with sweetheart neckline was embellished with embroidered roses. Her two-tier ivory elbowlength veil was bordered with a corded edge. She carried a bouquet of white roses and greenery.
Amber Koffler of Gaffney attended the bride as maid of honor while Laci Atkins of Gaffney served as bridesmaid.
Rose Martin of Gaffney, niece of the groom, was the flower girl and Gabriel Martin of Gaffney, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
The groom was attended by his father as best man while his brother, Chase Martin, was groomsman. Ushers were Dallas Vickers, brother of the bride, and Cam Bridges, both of Gaffney.
Dallas Vickers, brother of the bride, attended the guest register. The bride's aunt, Ann Ivey, was the wedding director.
The groom's mother, Debra Martin, arranged the decorations and the wedding cake was made by the bride's mother, Debbie Vickers. Photos were taken by the bride's uncle, Mike Mullinax, while Fred Champion videotaped the service. The bridesmaids and flower girl's hair and makeup were done by Kelly Peeler, aunt of the groom.
