Man faces multiple charges including indecent exposure

      A Gaffney man was arrested Tuesday morning following a chase in which authorities found a firearm stolen from a law enforcement office. Zactrick Michael Anthony Jefferies, 19, of 109 Flint St., is charged with possession of stolen goods, unlawful possession of a weapon, trespassing after notice, breaking arrest, indecent exposure and public disorderly conduct.

City open to combining tax sale

      City of Gaffney Administrator James Taylor said he has no problem with discussing a proposal to consolidate the county and municipal delinquent tax sales. Cherokee County Interim Administrator Ben Clary said last week consolidating the delinquent tax sales would eliminate unnecessary confusion.

$800,000 challenge grant issued
For preservation of Winnie Davis Hall

      An anonymous benefactor has issued an $800,000 challenge grant to create an endowment for the preservation of Winnie Davis Hall of History. After the building fell into disrepair, Limestone College closed Winnie Davis for safety reasons in 1977. The college started a $4 million capital campaign in January to restore the building.

Channel 7's Tom Crabtree is honorary chair of Memory Walk
      Anchorman Tom Crabtree from News Channel 7 is the honorary chair for this year's Alzheimer's Memory Walk scheduled for October 27th in downtown Gaffney. He will start the walk off from the Gaffney City Fire Department with registration at 10 a.m. and the walk starting at 11 a.m. The community is invited to walk with Tom!

      The third in a series of free Shindig at the Gaffney Cabin outdoor concerts will feature A. J. and his new hit single, "Drop It." Sheriff looking for a few good reserves
      The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for an upcoming Reserve Deputy training session. The Reserve Deputy Program is an intensive training course that allows interested persons to become volunteer deputies.
