Man faces multiple charges including indecent exposure
Jefferies A Gaffney man was arrested Tuesday morning following a chase in which authorities found a firearm stolen from a law enforcement office.
Zactrick Michael Anthony Jefferies, 19, of 109 Flint St., is charged with possession of stolen goods, unlawful possession of a weapon, trespassing after notice, breaking arrest, indecent exposure and public disorderly conduct.
According to Officer Chris Hutchins of the Gaffney Police Department, authorities received a call about shots being fired from a car.
The officer tried several times without success to stop a vehicle which Hutchins said went into the Limestone Courts residential community at "a high rate of speed."
The officer said the vehicle contained four people, including Jefferies. Jefferies was the lone person taken into custody at the scene with the other three fleeing on foot.
According to a police report, officers found a firearm under a rear passenger seat, which they confirmed as stolen from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office after running the serial number through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
The report states Jefferies was in public view and that "his pants were down to his knees and boxers pulled down" exposing private areas in front of bystanders at the scene. The report also claims Jefferies was "loud and boisterous" and used profane language at the time of his arrest.
At press time, Jefferies was being held in lieu of $4,484 bond.
