EUFAULA, Ala. - Joe Edward Ramsey, 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Henry County Health and Rehab in Abbeville, Ala.

Born March 21, 1927, in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Virgil and Carrie Rogers Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey served in the Merchant Marines before being drafted into the Army during World War II. After graduating from Clemson University, he joined Avondale Mills as a textile manager and later transferred to Eufaula. From there, he joined Columbus Mills, where he later retired.

Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Ramsey of Eufaula; a daughter, Robin R. (Dr. Jeffrey L.) Eubank of Globe, Ariz.; a son, Mark E. (April L.) Ramsey of Dahlonega, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Jonathan A. Eubank, Mary Emily Eubank, Christian J. Ramsey and Alexis L. Ramsey.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. David Burgess.
