Thinks it's time for change in Blacksburg coaching staff
      Dear Editor: I think it is time for a change in the coaching staff at Blacksburg High. We as proud supporters of our high school teams think Robbie Blanton has done all he can for our football program. We have too many losing seasons to support him any longer. Any other high school program would have changed the coaching staff by now.

Colorado organization pays tribute to Ola Copeland
      Dear Editor: The Rocky Mountain Roses (Chapter of The Red Hat Society) in Arvada, Colorado, declared Saturday, Oct. 20 as an Ola Copeland holiday. Ola was an honorary member of the chapter. Her friend, Linda Bridges from Gaffney, introduced Ola to the chapter two years ago.

Literacy Association says thanks to all who helped
      Dear Editor: Cherokee County citizens deserve a big applause. We had our fundraiser at Daddy Joe's on Oct. 4 and the community cared enough that approximately 540 people showed up for lunch. Our deep appreciation goes to all.
