Literacy Association says thanks to all who helped

Dear Editor:

Cherokee County citizens deserve a big applause. We had our fundraiser at Daddy Joe's on Oct. 4 and the community cared enough that approximately 540 people showed up for lunch.

Our deep appreciation goes to all.

Thank you is also shared toward:

1. Our corporate sponsors Mr. & Mrs. Barry Hamrick, the Gaffney Board of Public Works and Nestle.

2. Daddy's Joe's staff, who worked voluntarily for literacy and Shag himself.

3. Cherokee County Literacy Association staff and board members.

4. Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

5. Especially the news media for the articles and free advertising.

The barbecue was a big success. All of the above made it happen.
