CHAPS, Conservation District host Farm City Week celebration
      The annual "Bowl-ing for History" luncheon and 'If My Quilt Could Talk" quilt show is set for Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Cherokee History and Arts Museum, 301 College Drive. Sponsored by the Cherokee Historical and Preservation Society Inc. and the Cherokee Soil and Water Conservation District, the event celebrates Farm City Week.

      Dear Annie: My husband wants to take nude pictures of me. I've told him I don't like it, but he'll occasionally try to snap a shot when I am stepping out of the shower. He gets angry when I insist he delete it. He says he should be able to have nude pictures of his wife. Then I feel guilty. Am I being too uptight?

      Limestone College cheerleaders will be cheering this weekend to raise funds to help find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. They will be at the Gaffney City Fire Department Saturday preparing for the Alzheimer's Association signature event - the Memory Walk. Registration starts at 10 a.m.

Katelyn Pittman wins Little Miss Gaffney crown
      Katelyn Pittman competed in the Little Miss Gaffney/Cherokee County pageant on Saturday, Oct. 20, and won the Little Miss Gaffney 2008 title along with Little Miss Cherokee County Sweetheart 2008. She also won the photogenic competition.

It's the great (painted) pumpkin!
     Peachtree Centre held a special fall festival day recently for its residents, who creatively decorated about a dozen pumpkins that were placed outside the facility for everyone to admire. Peachtree's dietary department kept the pumpkin painters supplied with refreshments. At right, Lois Mothershed puts some "hair" on her pumpkin.

      Fund raisers A turkey shoot will be held Saturdays, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17, from 7-10 a.m. at Camps Creek Baptist Church. Win your Thanksgiving turkey and have lots of fun at the same time.
