Fund raisers
A turkey shoot will be held Saturdays, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17, from 7-10 a.m. at Camps Creek Baptist Church. Win your Thanksgiving turkey and have lots of fun at the same time. Bring your shotgun; shells will be provided. Cost is $5 per shot. Breakfast biscuits and drinks will be available. All proceeds go to the building of McNary Apache Baptist Church in McNary, Ariz.
A barbecue sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Camps Creek Baptist Church. A Boston butt, slaw and sauce will be $35. Singings
Chesnee Gospel Music Center on Green Lake Road in Chesnee will have a gospel singing Saturday at 7 p.m. featuring several groups from Spartanburg.
Fall festivals
Along with the Grover Fall Festival, members of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 307 Cleveland Ave., Grover, will have a fall and Christmas craft bazaar Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. until noon. Breakfast biscuits and coffee will be sold and a drawing for a $300 gas card will be held at 12:15 p.m. Drawings will also be held for other donated items and baked goods will be for sale.
Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O'Neal St., will have a fall festival Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 5:30 p.m. There will be fun for ages ages with a hot dog supper, cake walk, inflatable slide, trick-or-trunk, hayride and fellowship. Public is invited to attend. The church is located off I-85 at exit 87.
Macedonia Baptist Church will have a fall festival Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4- 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to help families at Christmas. There will be a hot dog supper, bake sale, silent cake auction, country store, inflatables, games, a maze, hayrides, entertainment and more.
Shady Grove Baptist Church will have a fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4-7 p.m. There will be games, hot dogs, hamburgers, inflatables and much more. The Education and Brotherhood ministries invite all to attend.
A community-wide fall festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, from 5-7 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church, 3010 Chesnee Hwy. There will be music, inflatables, costume contests, treat bags, prizes, registration giveaways, hayrides, food and more.
Gaffney Freewill Baptist Church on Whelchel Road will have a fall festival Saturday, Oct. 27, beginning at 4 p.m.
Cherokee Falls Baptist Church will have a fall festival Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. in the fellowship building. There will be a meal, games, "trick-a-trunk," etc. Those attending are asked to dress as Bible characters.

Northside Baptist Church will present its 43rd annual World Missions Conference, "Sending the Light to Those in Darkness," Oct. 28-Nov. 4. Missionaries will be reporting on their work in Cuba, the West Indies, Philippines, South America, West Africa and the United States. The Church of the Advent in Spartanburg will host a two-day seminar, "Good Grief," on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m. Katherine Moore, a grief counselor, author and spiritual director, will be the leader. After being in the 2-3 p.m. time slot since 1971, East Gaffney Baptist Church's Sunday morning services can now be heard live from 11 a.m. until noon on WEAC 1500 AM. The move was effective Oct. 14. Pastor Ron Jackson said the move will allow listeners, especially shut-ins, to worship as the service takes place and consider themselves a part of the congregation. East Gaffney's morning worship services can be seen each Sunday from 3-4 p.m. on WGGSTV16. First Baptist Church of Gaffney had occupied the live radio slot since 1962 but recently voted to end its radio ministry.
Bethel Baptist Church will celebrate its 113th church anniversary Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service. Music will be presented by the church choir and the sermon will be delivered by the pastor, Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr.
The Senior Missionaries of Island Creek Baptist Church, 2112 Battleground Road, Cowpens, will have their annual program Sunday during the 9:30 morning worship service. The Missionaries will be in charge of the pulpit service and the church's First Lady, Rubye C. Sanders, will be the speaker.
Hallelujah Night will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Antioch Baptist Church, 300 Serene Drive, Gaffney. The evening will feature friendship, fellowship and fun for all ages with praise and worship, free food and drinks and a "trunk or treat."

The Limestone Missionary Baptist Church family will celebrate the church's 135th anniversary Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. Speaker will be Troy McDowell, pastor of Greater Buck Shoals Church in Mooresboro, N.C.
Harris Baptist Church will have a singing Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. featuring The Rogers Trio of Blacksburg and The Golden Valley Crusaders of Golden Valley, N.C.
The Pastor's Aide ministry of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church will sponsor a Rainbow March on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. Guest speaker will be Bishop Emanuel Spearman, pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Cross Hill.
Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Hickory Grove will have a fall bazaar Saturday, Oct. 27. Hours are 8 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be sausage biscuits and gravy biscuits for breakfast and hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken stew for lunch. Cultural events The Spartanburg Little Theatre will present Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple," Nov. 2-4 and Nov. 9-11 at the David E. Reid Theatre in the Chapman Cultural Center.
