Pirlener C. Phillips
Pirlener Camp Phillips, 90, wife of Jimmy Phillips, of 1123 State Line Road, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Born in Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Embra and Lola Sarratt Camp. She was a member of Mikes Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by four sons, J.C., Bobby, Jimmy and Joseph Phillips; two brothers, Ira Camp and Pittman Camp; and two sisters, Pearla Davis and Corine McDowell.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Phillips; a son, John Phillips of the home; a daughter, Hettie Phillips of the home; daughter-in-law, Ann Phillips of Caroleen, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Lonnie Phillips of Gaffney and Eunice Camp of Statesville, N.C.; 18 grandchildren, including two raised in the home, Jermaine Phillips of Cowpens and Douglas Dawkins of Gaffney; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today, Friday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. at Suck Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Macomson officiating, assisted by the Revs. Omigene Proctor and Jestine Lincoln. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m.
Flower bearers will be Louise McGill, Geraldine Sarratt, Diane Littlejohn, Mary Jefferies, Kawaide Wilson, Gloria Phillips, and Rosalyn Camp.
Pallbearers will be the Brotherhood of Suck Creek Baptist Church.
