Craig leads Gaffney jayvees to OT victory
      Joe Craig was too much for the Dorman Cavaliers on Thursday. Craig rushed for two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, and threw for another to lift the Gaffney junior varsity to a 20-14 overtime win over the visiting Cavaliers.

      BOSTON - First a blowout, then a nail-biter. October ace Curt Schilling and Boston's stingy bullpen figured out another way to stop Colorado. Relying more on guile than pure gas, Schilling pitched the Red Sox to a 2-1 victory Thursday night and a 2-0 lead in the World Series over the suddenly stagnant Rockies.

      The conference championship game between Granard Middle and Gaffney Middle was postponed on Wednesday and has been rescheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brumbach Stadium. The Blacksburg Broncos are on a roll. The Mite League team advanced to Tuesday's secondplayoff matchup with the Wildcats with an impressive 40-0 win over the Gaffney Green Hornets.
