James William Lattimore Sr., 74, of 1215 Ledbetter Road, Spindale, N.C., husband of Geraldine Watkins Lattimore, passed Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 3:28 a.m. at Hospice House, Forest City, N.C.

Son of the late Gertnard Lattimore and the late Sally Hunt Lattimore, he was born on Nov. 10, 1932, in Cleveland County, N.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Junior Lattimore and Willie Ed Lattimore; and twin infant sisters.

He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church of Spindale and a retired employee of Stone Cutter Mills in Spindale.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, James Edward Lattimore, David Lattimore and Ronnie Gene Lattimore, all of Charlotte, and Vincent Lattimore of Spindale; two daughters, Vanessa Ann McNeely of Rutherfordton and Peggy Edgerton of Shelby; a brother, George Lattimore of Doggett Grove, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Father's Vineyard, Spindale, N.C., with the Revs. Tony Giles, Rosaleen Francis, Travis McEntyre, Pastor John Mitchell and Pastor Terry Howell officiating. Body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Julian Wood, Trent Wood, Shane Wood, Todd Lattimore, Evan Lattimore, Michael Green and Shane Lattimore.
