County close to decision on assistant
The county is moving closer to selecting its new assistant administrator.
The Cherokee County Finance Committee will meet Tuesday to review the five finalists.
The finance committee met finalists face-to-face for the first time during a series of interviews on Monday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Cherokee County Interim Administrator Ben Clary said he expects the committee to move quickly to make its selection.
The finalists include Steven Bratton, who is employed at First Piedmont Federal; Cherokee County Building Department employee Mason Harris; Blacksburg's Kelvin Sizemore, who is retired from the United States Armed Forces; Landrum's J. Holland Belue, who is employed by Spartanburg County; and Greenville's Dawn Wichmann, who works for Greenville County.
A salary for the new employee has yet to be determined.
