Christmas Parade The City of Gaffney will hold its Christmas parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Applications are now being accepted for all types of entries. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Freightliner LLC is moving 341 jobs to South Carolina to be closer to the truck manufacturer's customers and production sites. The heavy truck subsidiary of German automaker Daimler AG said the move to Fort Mill, S.C., affects about 10 percent of its Portland work force, primarily in sales, marketing and dealer support positions. Teen says he was carjacked
A Gaffney man said he was held hostage at gunpoint in his car for several hours Tuesday. Jonathan Scruggs, 18, of 630 Park Gate Road, said he was approached by a man just before 1 p.m. at the Burger King on Floyd Baker Boulevard whom he described as between 20 and 25 years old wearing a navy blue do-rag, a yellow Nautica fleece jacket, orange shirt and blue jeans. Two arrested after drugs found
Two Gaffney residents were arrested Wednesday after authorities said they found drugs at a home at 125 Monticello St. Isley Berbard Wallace, 36, and Shereka Lavetta Dawkins, 28, of that address, are charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within a halfmile of a school and possession of marijuana.
