Complete Timken program
Two associates complete studies
Evans Two Gaffney Bearing Plant associates recently graduated from The Timken Company's four-year apprenticeship program. These associates completed classroom study at Spartanburg Community College and extensive onthe job training in their respective fields at the Gaffney Bearing Plant.
The Timken Company's Gaffney Bearing Plant Apprenticeship Program, introduced in 1989, has a twofold purpose. First, it provides the plant with highly skilled maintenance associates, and second, it provides the associates the ability to advance themselves both educationally and professionally.
The apprenticeship program provides the successful candidates an hourly wage along with educational expenses while acquiring indepth knowledge and experience of the skilled trade. Each graduate apprentice receives approximately 8,300 to 9,300 hours of course work and training, depending on the curriculum, and receives an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Community College.
Graduates from the program are Kelon Evans and Jeremie L. Martin.
Evans completed the Gaffney Bearing Plant's Apprenticeship for the General Maintenance Mechanic Program. He resides in Cleveland County.
Martin Martin completed the Gaffney Bearing Plant's Apprenticeship for the General Maintenance Mechanic Program. He resides in Gaffney and graduated from Gaffney High School in the Class of 1994.
