Jerry McCraw Sr.
BLACKSBURG - Jerry Leonard McCraw Sr., 73, of 109 Andrew Dr., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at his residence.
A native of Gaffney, he was the widower of Mary Frances McCraw, and son of the late Thomas Foster McCraw and Mary Allison McCraw. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a retired security officer, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry L. McCraw Jr. and Mark Carlton McCraw and wife, Tina, all of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Lamonda Peeler and husband, Clyde, of Surfside Beach, and Joyce Queen and fiance, Ronnie Humphries, of Blacksburg; a brother, Kenneth McCraw and wife, Martha, of Cherokee Falls; a sister, Elnita Poole of Gaffney; nine grandchildren, Sgt. John Rose (who was raised in the home) and wife, Rhonda, of Gaffney, Summer Fuller and husband, Boss, of Gaffney, Joey McCraw, Carlin McCraw and Grady Lee McCraw, all of Raleigh, N.C., Shawn McCraw of Charleston, Cody McCraw of Colorado, Beth Peeler and fiance, Clay Robbs, of Gaffney, and Brooks Peeler and wife, Julie, of Gaffney; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Foster McCraw Jr.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 5, from 1-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be held immediately following the visitation in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the residence.
