Lady Saints dump Mount Olive, advance to tourney semis

The Limestone women's soccer team picked the right time to play its best.

Madi Dulisse and Lee Cribb each had a goal as the Lady Saints advanced to the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas women's soccer tournament with a 2-0 win over Mount Olive on Wednesday at Saints Field.

Dulisse beat the Trojan goalkeeper in the 40th minute to put the Lady Saints up 1-0.

Spartanburg's Lee Cribb scored on a breakaway with 17 minutes left in regulation to give Limestone its final margin of victory.

Limestone improves to 7-8-4, while the Lady Trojans fall to 7-9-4.

Defenders Ashley Vaughan, Brittany Owen, Amanda Lear and Jenna Mellon held Mount Olive to just two shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Brittany Clark recorded both saves for the Lady Saints.

Jenn Sastre had six saves for the Lady Trojans. Gina Santos led the Lady Trojans with four shots.

Limestone outshot Mount Olive, 17-8.

Limestone advances to face Belmont Abbey in the tournament semifinals today at 5 p.m. at Mount Olive. The conference championship game will be held Saturday.
