Gaffney jayvees blank Vikings

The Gaffney junior varsity team got defensive - literally - in its regular-season finale on Thursday.

Jordan Manning had an interception to snuff out the Sparanburg Vikings' lone scoring chance and preserve the Indians' 7-0 victory at the Reservation.

Gaffney ends the season with a 10-1 mark.

Kenard Lipscomb would provide the Indians with all the offense they would need with a six-yard run.

The Vikings drove deep inside Gaffney territory in the third quarter but Manning's interception ended that threat.

In ninth-grade action, Gaffney edged the Vikings, 16-13.
