Boy Scouts to hold round

Local Boy Scout troops will hold a scouting round-up Thursday from 7-8 p.m. in several Gaffney area locations.

Boys interested in joining cub scouts (ages 7-10) and Boy Scouts (ages 11-17) should plan on coming to scouting round-up meetings at Buford Street Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Gaffney or Macedonia Baptist Church. The meetings will provide boys and their parents with information on how to get involved in scouting, different scouting activities, and area cub scout and boy scout troops.

Boy Scouts is a 100-year-old worldwide youth program where boys can enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing and other fun activities. Boys learn leadership skills, get involved in community service and develop into good citizens through scouting activities.

Local scout troops currently include Pack and Troop 51 (contact: Brian Cox), Pack and Troop 53 (contact: Scott Blanton), Pack and Troop 86 (contact: John Wesley Evans), Pack and Troop 145 (contact: Craig Bramlett), Troop 353 (contact: Reginald Smith), Pack and Troop 418 (Steve Byars.)
