City expresses appreciation Despite the weather, the Tony Howard Show that featured hip hop artists A.J., and Erin Malone in addition to Tony Howard and the James Brown Recording Artists, was a success thanks to attendance by members of the community and visitors from Spartanburg, Shelby and other surrounding towns. Neither the chilly air, nor the damp from the fog that began to settle before the concert was over, dampened the spirits of those in attendance. The dancing lasted right up until the band's last song of the evening. Jim Cudd brought a great band to Gaffney when he brought us the Tony Howard Show. This band played everything including hip hop, beach, boogie, and Motown. Tracy from the Side Track Café, the Capri Theater, and the Gaffney Fire Department provided the food for the evening; Hames Music once again most graciously provided the stage for the evening; and Smitty Cook and Sub Station II provided dinner for the band. Our local news media, including the Blacksburg Times, The Cherokee Chronicle, The Spartanburg Herald-Journal, WFGN, and WEAC, along with Power 98 of Charlotte and WJMZ of Greenville got the word out about the concert and also took some great photos. Thank You! You are great! A special thank you goes out to all the City of Gaffney employees, including those from our public works department, police department and fire department, who stayed later than usual to help the band pack up and to help Mark Bunch of Hames Music to break down the stage. We always appreciate your help. Pat Throneburg Program Coordinator City of Gaffney |
