Women charged with manufacturing meth

KIMBERLY STAFFORD KIMBERLY STAFFORD Two Gaffney women are in police custody after agents from the Cherokee County Metro Narcotics Unit said they found drugs and drug paraphernalia while executing a search warrant Friday.

Kimberly Stafford, 39, and Kasie Nichole Tessnear, 17, both of 600 Soapstone Road, are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.

Stafford is also charged with possession of Xanax.

According to a report on file at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, at 10 p.m. Friday agents served a search warrant at the address of the two suspects and seized equipment typically used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The report claims while searching the home authorities were able to find large amounts of iodine and pseudoephedrine - two substances commonly used to make methamphetamine.

According to the report, agents found a white substance believed to be methamphetamine, papers, glassine baggies and other items containing recipes and ingredients aiding in the manufacture of the drug.

KASIE TESSNEAR KASIE TESSNEAR Xanax pills were also found at the residence, the report states.

The two women admitted their knowledge of methamphetamine being manufactured in the home, according to the report.

Authorities said Stafford has two prior convictions for the manufacture of ice, crack and crack cocaine. She is currently being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Tessnear is being held on $35,000 bond.
